Thompson-Hera became the first woman to win back-to-back Olympic sprints when she doubled up in Tokyo three years ago.

She was hoping to join fellow Jamaican Usain Bolt as only the second person to do it three times.

Thompson-Herah parted ways with her coach late last year and finished last in her season opener last month at the Prefontaine Classic.
