The moment the tailgate is checked on the brakes, causing several vehicles to crash on Queensland highway, was captured by a camera.
The 20-year-old man was braking a Subaru Outback station wagon with his Mazda 3 hatchback as they traveled north on the Bruce Hwy on the Sunshine Coast about 2.30pm on Wednesday.

A truck camera in the adjacent lane captured the Mazda less than a meter from the rear of the Subaru.
The footage shows the Subaru driver checking the brakes – or stopping suddenly and momentarily while tailgating – twice.
The second brake check caused the Mazda to veer across the lanes, in front of the truck, before crashing and crashing into the truck and at least one other vehicle – another truck.
The driver of the Mazda escaped with injuries.
The Subaru avoided the wreckage and the driver continued to drive away from the crash.
Police have yet to lay charges, appealing for any witnesses to come forward as investigations continue.
