The white vehicle crashed into a tree on Caboolture River Road in Upper Caboolture at around 2.30pm on Friday. The woman driving the car died on the spot.
Her three-month-old son was rushed to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
Police last night confirmed the baby had died yesterday afternoon.
There are not believed to be any other vehicles or people involved in the crash.
The Forensic Crash Unit, which is investigating the fatal case, has appealed for anyone with dashcam, CCTV or information about the crash to come forward.
